Find a Doctor or Hospital

Choosing the right doctor can seem overwhelming at times. You want to find someone you trust, who’s close to you and has openings. There’s also the added stress of making sure they’re in your plan’s network so you don’t have to pay extra costs.  

What are the ways I can go about finding a doctor?
You have two options when searching for a doctor:

1. Provider Finder is a free tool to help you find a doctor or hospital in your network. Click on the link to access Provider Finder
2. The BCBSIL App helps you find a doctor, hospital or urgent care facility. There are two ways to download the free BCBSIL App:
   • Text BCBSIL APP to 33633
   • Go to the iTunes App Store or Google Play store and download the BCBSIL App. Message and data rates may apply.

What is Provider Finder?
Our Provider Finder® now lets you compare cost and quality when it comes to health care.

What does Provider Finder do?
It can help you with a number of your health decisions:

• Estimate the cost of hundreds of procedures, treatments and tests.
• Determine if a Blue Distinction Center® is an option for treatment.
• View patient feedback or add your review for a provider.
• Review providers’ certifications and recognitions.

How does it work?

Provider Finder is very easy to use.* All you have to do is:

1. Select the state you live in
   
     
2. Choose your plan network (or plan name) from the choices provided
   OR
     
3. Select the state you want to search in
   
     
4. To further narrow your search, enter the location you would like to search in and select the distance you want your results to fall within
   
     
5. You have the choice to enter the name of the doctor, facility or clinic
   
      
6. You also have the option to select Provider Type, Specialty or both
   
     
7. You can filter your results by choosing providers who speak Spanish, are taking new patients, are board certified, have recognitions/certifications/accreditations and more
   
     
8. Click “Search”

If you’ve signed up for Blue Access for Members^SM, you can also search for doctors, hospitals and other providers in the Doctors and Hospitals section.

Search on the Go 
Download the BCBSIL App  to find an in-network doctor or hospital on your mobile phone. You’ll be able to use your phone’s GPS location or input a ZIP code, and the app can pinpoint the closest provider to you.
