Id Cards

How can I get a new ID card?

Planning to visit the doctor or fill a prescription at a new pharmacy soon? You’ll want to have your ID card handy. If you’ve misplaced or lost yours, you can print a temporary card or request a new one in Blue Access for Members(SM) (BAM). Here’s a quick look at how:

Print a temporary ID card
If you need a card today for an appointment or pharmacy visit, you can print a temporary one from multiple areas within BAM.

  1. Log in to BAM. If you haven’t registered yet, you’ll need your group and ID numbers. You can find these on the welcome letter you received from us.
  2. Once you’ve logged in, click on "Get a Temporary ID Card” under Quick Links on the home page.

From there, click the "Print Temporary ID Card" button. Note: Your computer must be connected to a printer.

Request an ID card
You can also order an additional permanent ID card or a replacement for a lost card in BAM.

  1. Log in to BAM. If you haven’t registered yet, you’ll need your group and ID numbers. You can find these on the welcome letter you received from us.
  2. Once you’ve logged in, click on "Get a Temporary ID Card” under Quick Links on the home page.
  3. From there, click the "order an ID card” link at the top of the page.
  4. Confirm your address and click the orange button to request a new card. Your card(s) will be sent to you within two weeks. Regardless of how many people are covered on your policy, BAM will generate only one member ID card at a time. You’ll need to request multiple cards individually if you need more than one.
  5. If you have questions about the information in your Blue Access for Members account, such as benefits or claims information, you can:
    1. Call the Customer Service number on the back of your member ID card
    2. Send us a private message through the “Message Center” in Blue Access for Members
    3. Send us a private message here on Connect or on Facebook or Twitter
